Lots of different versions of maps out there for the Coopers Rock State Forest.
Right now, this is the one I like best. Not all the trails are named, but we still know what they are. This is the one we're going to be going by for course description and such.

Please keep in mind-
We simply cannot pre-mark the course. It gets torn down and then all is for naught. We mark it Saturday afternoon and we still have to review parts of it and make things right. Unfortunately it's just the way it is and has been. Thank you for your patience and consideration.

Yes, we are going to be starting on the road. Somewhere not far from the bottom. Get those climbing legs ready!.
This is the way the race started originally and for many, many years. Before lightweight bikes, before clipless pedals and fancy shoes.

Beginner Course -
Up Henry Clay Road away from parking lot.
Then turn right to Intermediate/Headwaters Trail toward Reservoir.
Lower Reservoir Trail, left, at Rock Cairn.
New Reservoir Trail.
Top of Reservoir Rd, down Libor until the connector to Clay Run.
Down Clay Run until the right hander to the Powerline. All the Powerline until you come back down to Clay Run, then right onto Clay Run Trail.
From the furnace triangle intersection go across the creek, around the furnace and up to the parking lot.
~7.5 miles

Sport and Expert Course -
Henry Clay Furnace Road up to the first left, going across the powerline field, heading towards Roadside Trail and Day Use Lot. Follow arrows and trail to the main road. Cross main road (carefully) and head down Scotts Run Trail.
Stay on the Scotts Run Trail, trail turns right up the rocky creek bed (going left doesn't really go anywhere), then finally you get to the top and the Campground Road.
Go to the left, toward the Campround, follow arrows and ribbon through the playground and on to the Nature Trails, do both. Then back to the campground and to the left onto Campground Connector over to the Woodshed Service Road, where you will be marshalled across the road.
Cross main road and turn right on Roadside Trail, good chance of other traffic on this section!.
Roadside Trail to top of Reservoir Rd. Now it's the same as the Beginner Course from above.
Bear left and go down Libor just a little, until the connector to Clay run.
Down Clay Run until the right hander to the Powerline. All the Powerline until you come back down to Clay Run, then right onto Clay Run Trail.
At the furnace triangle head up Rhododendrom, up, up, up, until to get to the switchback connector to the right. At top turn left towards Rock City.
Go through Rock City completely, as you exit the unrideable crevice take Ridge Trail down, down, down, at bottom turn right on to Mont Chateau and go towards the furnace again.
At triangle take the trail to cross the stream then start heading up around the furnace.
Sports will keep on going up Henry Clay Trail to finish their race. ~14 miles
Experts will turn right on to the Railgrade/Advanced Ski Trail to the top. They will then follow the Beginner Course from above;
Intermediate to Rock Cairn, left to the Lower Reservoir Trail, new Reservoir Trail, top of Reservoir, down Libor, connector to Clay Run, hit the Powerline, back on to Clay Run, down to Triangle and finally exit up Henry Clay Trail to the parking lot. ! ~19.5 miles

~7.5 miles for Beginner.
~14 miles for Sport.
~19.5 miles for Expert.

Coopers Rock is hilly and rocky and so is this course. Also, we are not the only trail users out there. Please keep these things in mind... #respecttherock
