Lots of different versions of maps out there for the Coopers Rock State Forest.
Right now, this is the one I like best. Not all the trails are named, but we still know what they are. This is the one we're going to be going by for course description and such.

Thank you Steve Harouff.

Got this from the WV Forestery site pertaining to Coopers Rock-

Please keep in mind-
We simply cannot pre-mark the course. It gets torn down and then all is for naught. We mark it Saturday afternoon and we still have to review parts of it and make things right. Unfortunately it's just the way it is and has been. Thank you for your patience and consideration.

Beginner Course and the start of everyone else -
Coopers Rock Beginner Loop - minus the left at Rock Cairn and trail around the resevervoir
Yes, we are going to be starting on the road. Somewhere not far from the bottom. Get those climbing legs ready!.
This is the way the race started originally and for many, many years. Before lightweight bikes, before clipless pedals and fancy shoes.
Henry Clay Furnace Road up to the top of the Rail Grade/Advanced Ski Trail, right turn then left onto the Intermediate Ski Trail towards the reservoir.
At the Rock Cairn, take the right for Upper Reservoir Trail, out to the Clay Run service road then left, up to the dam then straight and onto the new little trail that goes around the reservoir. It's a sweet little thing!
Back onto service road, left then up to the start of Libor Trail on the right, just before the Road Side Trail. Down Libor. Down, down, down.
Hard right instead of going straight to The Wall, and left down to Clay Run Trail and on to Henry Clay Furnace area.
Bear left at the bottom and go up Rhododendron, up, up, up, to the right turn to take Bench-Cut Trail up to the Ridge Hiking Trail and left to go to Rock City.
At Rock City shelter turn right and through the rhododendren, then pop out and go down Ridge Trail, down, down, down, until you bear right onto Mont Chateau Trail and go up that rocky trail/stream-bed leading to the Furnace area.
Everyone goes up and around the Furnace, Beginners go straight and up Clay Furnace Trail to finish at the parking lot.

Sport and Experts -
Will turn right up the Advanced Ski Trail/Rail Grade, to the top and make the right and down Intermediate Ski/Reservoir Trail, same trail that you did on the first lap, over toward the reservoir. Do the same thing as above, but at the bottom of Clay Run Trail and Henry Clay Furnace the Sports will go up the Clay Furnace Road to finish and the Experts will go up Rhododenron again and head to Rock City and down Ridge Trail.
At the bottom of Ridge, Experts will now take the left at the end of Ridge Trail and go down Mont Chateau Trail, bear right, then across the bridge and start the trail back to the furnace, then finish once they get back to the Furnace going out Clay Furnace Trail to the parking lot and finish line.

~9 miles for Beginner.
~14 miles for Sport.
~18 miles for Expert.

Coopers Rock is hilly and rocky and so is this course. Please keep that in mind... #respecttherock
